The gate to Lil Buds Park had a new lock. Marisol pressed her mittened palm against the cold iron, peering through the slats. Inside, the baby trees stood like nervous schoolchildren—bare, twiggy, their little name-tag stakes frozen at a slant.
As we welcomed the new year 2018 with open arms, many of us made resolutions to spend more time outdoors and connect with nature. For those living in or visiting the area around Lil Buds Park, the first day of 2018 - January 2nd, 2018, to be exact - was an excellent opportunity to do just that.
