Likely because you didn’t select a bug from the dropdown. Try refreshing the login page and selecting something like "SQL Injection (GET/Search)".
If bWAPP cannot connect to your MySQL database, the login will fail. You need to check the configuration file located at: bWAPP/admin/settings.php bwapp login password
