The agent reaches a pre-arranged extraction point (or is forced to improvise one). The pursuing forces catch up. A final, desperate battle takes place. The agent must hold off the enemy while waiting for a British rescue plane or submarine. There is often a twist here—the "weapon" might be destroyed, or the scientist sacrifices themselves to ensure the agent survives.
Winter knows that he must get out of Eclipse, and fast. The Russians are closing in, and he can hear the sound of sirens blaring in the distance. He grabs his gear, and makes a run for the ventilation shaft, but not before he sees something that makes his blood run cold.
